Beachfront Miramar

Beachfront Miramar

A challenging project on an extremely narrow 14-foot wide home on the beach wedged in-between other like homes. To make the home lighter, more comfortable and up to date while maintaining the beach cottage appeal was the goal. To accomplish this, on the exterior, LFH installed all new bay windows and doors all with integral encased shades for a clean detail and low maintenance, and a nice outdoor rinse station at the lower beach deck (a must for all beach homes).

The interior was much more extensive, LFH rebuilt the fireplace surround with a new firebox and chimney, gutted, and built a brand new kitchen with high-end but small-profile appliances and clean detailed cabinetry for the tiny kitchen. Removing an old ceiling soffit in the old kitchen and opening the ceiling was a huge gain in apparent space and an open feeling. The single bathroom in the home was gutted and updated to a more warm contemporary feel with Robern vanity, recessed lit shelf above, modern fixtures, and a new shower with linear drain and of course Starphire glass enclosure. Retained in the home were the various glass block windows which provide much-needed light while maintaining privacy. All floors were refinished, and all new interior doors added to the upgrades. A very cozy and charming project.
